When you are ready for bed, just say: Alexa, I’m Tired.
I’m Tired is the fuller bedtime member of the Somna family. Presets are the easiest way to use it, replay is available when you want the same script again, and Partner Mode can keep the opening gentler for someone nearby.
If you are new, keep it simple:
If you are not sure where to start, begin with Safe Rest.
Different Alexa devices and generations may respond differently to a short phrase like “Alexa, I’m Tired.” Some may open the skill, while others may give an unrelated response (test yours to hear its response).
To make Alexa respond the way you expect, you can create a simple voice shortcut by saying:
Alexa, whenever I say I’m Tired, open the I’m Tired skill.Alexa will confirm that it created a routine. After that, you can just say:
Alexa, I’m Tired. This shortcut may take noticably longer to start because Alexa is running it through a Routine. The benefit is that the phrase becomes more reliable across different Echo devices.
When you are ready for sleep, say:
Alexa, I’m Tired (if the response is unexpected, go to All Commands for additional options.)Somna uses your saved preset or settings automatically. There is no menu and nothing to choose in the moment.
Presets are the main way to choose the kind of bedtime support you want. Each preset starts in the standard length. If you want less or more, you can change the length separately.
