Somna I'm Hurting User Guide

When the body hurts, just say: Alexa, I’m Hurting.

I’m Hurting is meant to stay simple. It is not medical care. It gives the moment a little softness without trying to fix, treat, or explain the pain.

Start here

If you are new, keep it simple:

  1. Say: Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to browse presets.
  2. Choose one preset, such as standard.
  3. If someone is nearby, turn on Partner Mode.
  4. When you are hurting, say: Alexa, I’m Hurting.

If you are not sure where to start, begin with standard.

Pain support

When pain is present and you want a quieter moment around it, say:

Alexa, I’m Hurting (if the response is not expected, go to All Commands for additional options.)

Somna uses your saved preset automatically. There is nothing else to choose in the moment.

Safety Opening

I’m Hurting begins with a short safety opening. It reminds you that this is not medical care and that sudden, severe, unusual pain, or feeling unsafe, calls for medical help.

The opening stays brief and then moves into the Somna experience.

Presets

Presets are the main way to use I’m Hurting. They keep the experience quiet while letting you choose how much support you want.

Short

Brief support when the moment needs to stay simple.

Uses: short · soft · pain support

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to switch to preset short

Standard

A little more room for the body to soften around the discomfort.

Uses: standard · steady · pain support

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to switch to preset standard

Deep

A longer, slower version when you can stay with it for a while.

Uses: deep · spacious · pain support

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to switch to preset deep

Browse presets

You do not need to remember every preset name. You can browse them.

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to browse presets Alexa, ask I’m Hurting for the next preset Alexa, ask I’m Hurting for the previous preset

When you know the one you want, say:

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to switch to preset standard

Replay

If you want the same experience again, use replay language.

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to play again Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to replay last

Play again uses your current saved preset. Replay last repeats the last response when available.

Partner Mode

If someone is nearby, Partner Mode adds a very short opening before the main script so the experience feels gentler in a shared space.

It does not change the main preset. It only adds a brief preface.

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to turn on Partner Mode Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to turn off Partner Mode Alexa, ask I’m Hurting is Partner Mode on

Check your settings

If you want to hear what is currently selected, say:

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting what are my current settings

If you want to hear your current preset, say:

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting what preset am I using

Most people can stay with presets. I’m Hurting keeps settings intentionally simple.

Length

Length follows the preset you choose.

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting what is my length Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to switch to preset deep

Style

Style follows the preset. I’m Hurting does not add a busy style menu.

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting what is my style Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to set style to soft

Focus

Focus is set to pain support. The skill is for softening the moment around discomfort, not treating or diagnosing pain.

Alexa, ask I’m Hurting what is my focus Alexa, ask I’m Hurting to set focus to pain support

I’m Hurting uses the same Somna family command style as the other “I’m ...” skills: browse presets, choose a preset, play again, replay last, turn on Partner Mode, or check settings.

FYI: You can also change Alexa’s voice in your device settings by saying, "Alexa, change your voice."
